Cooking Method
Ingredients
- 1 cup TastyGrains Red Rice Puttu Flour
- Water (as required)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh grated coconut
Instructions
- Mix salt with the puttu flour.
- Sprinkle water gradually while mixing until the flour reaches a crumbly texture. When pressed in your hand, it should hold together without becoming sticky.
- Let the moistened flour rest for 10–15 minutes.
- Layer grated coconut and the prepared flour alternately in a puttu maker.
- Steam for 5–8 minutes until cooked and aromatic.
- Serve hot with kadala curry, ripe banana, vegetable curry, sugar and ghee, or any accompaniment of your choice.
